WHAT
The standard day for a Junior AP student is 1:00-6:00, with an occasional evening or morning event; experienced Juniors are also scheduled for morning coachings. Some very advanced students in this age group may be admitted to the regular Apprentice Program. Students work with a variety of different coaches during their day. The older the students, the more time they have without a coach in the room; at the Junior level groups rehearse for short periods without a coach, and can opt to increase their individual rehearsal time as they are able. JrAP students usually work in 3-4 groups per week, of differing sizes; some rotations are for sight-reading and some are to work towards performance. Local students not yet ready for the regular Junior Apprentice Program may be admitted into the preparatory program, which meets for 2-3 hours each day. Counselors are available for outings and to supervise students during free time.
